Justin + Kaitie met as Interns at Camp Elim, a beautiful woodland retreat center in the front range of the Rockies at Woodland Park, CO. We photographed them on a typical fall Colorado day, which means any moment, it could snow. The campers were all gone for the day, so we could roam the place freely and roam we did! The result was an engagement session as comfortable as Colorado and as laid back and fun-loving as the couple.
I have known Kaitie for yeeeeaaaaarrssss, training in Taekwondo with her and her siblings. It is such a happy thing to see her and Justin so in love!
One of the iconic images of Colorado are the Aspen trees turning colors in the fall. Gorgeous! Even though the snow was moving in, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to capture these beautes.
Back at camp, recovering from the cold is best done in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate. Actually, I’m not sure there’s anything better.
Walking around camp, there are these adorable bear paws in the sidewalk. I couldn’t resist. I didn’t even try.
We hated to leave the warm lodge fireplace, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play in the lightly falling snow. The result: my favorite image of the session…or is it the fireplace image…nope, definitely this one!
Justin and Kaitie, I absolutely loved capturing this engagement session for you. I can’t wait for your nuptials in March!
Much photo love,
Chris
